Digital: 300 hp, 250 hp | Mechanical: 300 hp, 250 hp, 225 hp
A tangerine sunrise alights the shore as you load up the gear for a morning of coastal fishing. Your buddies are rearing to go—as are your twin V6 Offshore outboards. Known for their power, efficiency, and outstanding reliability, Yamaha’s V6 4.2-liter outboards are some of the most trusted V6’s on the water. They’re also some of the nimblest, with integrated digital electric steering. This makes them more responsive than ever. Our V6 Offshore outboards have proven once again that even a trusted favorite can take an exciting turn.
225 HP
Perfect for 20-foot decks or deep-Vs, the versatile V6 4.2-liter F225 allows you to increase your displacement without replacing your rigging.
- Recommended fuel: 87 Octane
- Shaft length: 25”
- Alternator output: 50 amp
Features may include:
4.2 Liter Big Bore Displacement
- Yamaha’s 4.2-liter V6 Offshore outboards feature plasma-fused sleeveless cylinder walls, which are 60 percent harder than steel. That means larger cylinder bores for increased displacement, resulting in more power and torque, without increasing outer cylinder dimensions. It also results in dramatically lighter weight and better cooling, and “micro-textured” cylinder walls that help decrease friction loss and further increase performance and enhance reliability.
Fuel Efficiency
- For maximum power and efficiency, electronically controlled throttle valves work in concert with Precision Multi-Point Fuel Injection to ensure a precise mix of air and fuel. In addition, six individual sensors constantly provide vital atmospheric and engine conditions to the Engine Control Module (ECM), which makes adjustments for performance.
Light Weight
- From the top of the cowling to the tip of the propeller shaft, every ounce of weight-savings has been realized for maximum performance without sacrificing durability.
Throttle Response & Acceleration
- Yamaha’s Variable Camshaft Timing system advances and retards the angle of the intake camshaft to dramatically increase power and throttle response in the low- and mid-RPM ranges. This feature helps Yamaha’s 4.2-liter big-bore V6 outboards deliver awesome hole shot and mid-range acceleration.
Responsive Electric Steering
- The Yamaha V6 Offshore F300 and F250 were the industry’s very first offshore V6’s offered in digital models with built-in electric steering. This makes them incredibly responsive and also results in a cleaner bilge, with no pumps, hoses, hydraulic lines, or connections.
