Before you rent
What to know before your rental day
Review the Operator Eligibility, Check-in and return details, Use and responsibility expectations, and notes regarding fuel, fishing, and pets below. For all other questions please call the Marina directly.
01Operator eligibility
- Walker Marine renters must be 25+.
- Minnesota residents need a lifetime Watercraft Operator’s Permit or the Minnesota Watercraft Rental Course certificate, valid for 180 days and around $9.99.
- Out-of-state visitors using Minnesota waterways for fewer than 60 days must meet their home state or country’s safety requirements.
02Check-in and return
- Bring a government-issued photo ID and a major credit card for the deposit, rental fees, and incidentals.
- Check-ins start at 10 AM.
- All watercraft must be returned by 5 PM on the last rental day, picked up, garbage bagged, and in good condition.
03Use and responsibility
- Walker Marine does not provide damage insurance; repair risk and cost are borne by the lessee.
- Coolers, food, beverages, personal items, and music are allowed.
- The driver must have no alcohol in their system, and the pontoon may not exceed capacity.
04Fuel, fishing, and pets
- Walker Marine lists fuel refill service at $5.99 per gallon.
- Fishing is allowed with a valid Minnesota fishing license; no fish may be stored in the equipment. Fishing cleaning fee: $100.
- Pets are not allowed unless special provisions are made; the listed pet cleaning fee is $100.
